PLEASE NOTE: I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY NEW CLIENTS, THANK YOU
Thank you for visiting my website.
You may have found yourself here because something has happened to you, ‘a life event‘ or a crisis that you are finding difficult to deal with alone. You may be unsure of how to move forward or perhaps your usual coping mechanisms just do not seem to be working.
It could be that you are dealing with an ongoing problem such as addiction, a difficult relationship or an issue(s) from the past, maybe as far back as childhood.
Whatever the reason, the important thing to acknowledge, is that you are trying to get some support and that is the biggest step.
I can provide a confidential, non-judgemental and safe space to enable you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. You will be listened to ‘actively’ with empathy and supported as you try to make sense of what is happening to you.
The therapeutic relationship takes in to account the client’s perspective as each client is unique. There is no ‘one cure fits all’ and as an experienced, professional therapist, I understand this. Counselling is of course about listening and exploring but equally, it is about making decisions, challenging yourself and finding a healthier way of dealing with situations as they arise. This could include developing coping techniques, assertiveness and communication skills if you feel these are required for your situation.
Counselling can also be a space to just ‘be yourself‘ and to feel that you can talk about the shadow parts of your Self; the parts that you may find difficult to open up about with family and friends. This could include exploring strong emotions such as anger, rage and shame.
Please feel free to contact me for further information or to book an initial counselling assessment appointment. You can find my details on the contact page or click on the links below.
